Quinn is 10 months!

Quinnie is 10 months today!

After a pretty hectic weekend (where Mommy went to ER), we were able to just chill out tonight and get some new pics.

This month has been a test for us.  At Quinn's 9 month check up, the doctor was a bit concerned about her gross motor development (as she wasn't getting herself to a sitting position).  So she referred us to "First Steps" to have her evaluated.  This is a volunteer program and although I didn't think that she was behind, I thought if something was off and I didn't find out I wouldn't be able to deal with that.  This past week she got evaluated.  The verdict is that she is a bit behind "normal," but nothing to be worried/concerned about so far.  She is ahead on fine motor and oral skills and the evaluator believed that she would catch up pretty quickly.

She is still getting used to the idea of chewing but tries to spit out anything that doesn't have some puree component to it.  I'm working on mixing more chunks into the puree to get her a bit more used to the texture.  Hopefully this will come with a bit more time.

10 month stats:

Weight - 16 lbs 3 oz (at dr. last week)
Height - 26.5" (by me)
Head circumference - didn't do
Clothing size:  6-9 months and some 9-12 months
Diaper size: 2-3 swaddlers and 3 huggies

Words:  Dada, Mama, O, and "yeah"

Foods: rice cereal, oatmeal cereal, peaches, pears, apples, bananas, prunes, squash, sweet potatoes, peas, green beans, and carrots. mixed vegetables, sweet potatoes with corn, pineapple, cherries, banana plum grape, apricot. garden vegetables, mangos, blueberries, banana orange, chicken noodles, vegetables and chicken, brocoli, sweet potato/turkey, some large banana chunks.  Beginning to learn to chew better without gagging!

More pics of my sweet cheeks!

  1. A had those pjs :) I was sad when he outgrew them. He didn't get himself to a sitting position until just a few weeks ago... Didn't think much about it! That is great that your doctor pays such close attention!
